BOALSBURG — The Columbus Chapel & Boal Mansion Museum recently announced through a press release the hiring of the new executive director of the Boal Estate — Anna L. Rupprecht.
Rupprecht officially began on March 21.
Her background as an American historian, college professor, presenter and curriculum developer, along with her experiences in research, developing training materials and public speaking and her interest in involving youth in nonprofit efforts in the community, will all contribute to her success leading the museum, said the press release.
Rupprecht’s responsibilities at the Boal Estate include fundraising, special events and administration, as well as acting as the “face” of the museum. She is also a member of the executive board.
She received her bachelor’s degree in political science and history, with minors in music and education, from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, followed by her master’s in history from East Stroudsburg University.
Rupprecht then acquired a second master’s degree, in education curriculum and instruction, focused on excellence in teaching, from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre.
She completed Ph.D. coursework in history at SUNY Binghamton before transitioning to teaching, curriculum development and nonprofit work when her daughter, Kennedy was born in 2019.
Rupprecht teaches and develops curricula at Penn State for the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Initiative. She is a member of the board of trustees of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Boalsburg. Her other teaching, writing and curriculum development experiences have been at Marywood University in Scranton as a history instructor, as a self-employed homeschool curriculum advisor and as an adjunct professor at Penn State York campus.
