STATE COLLEGE — Spring in Happy Valley means fresh flavor and the re-emergence of on-the-farm events and offerings. Check out what’s new and make plans for new agventures in 2026.

Morning Glory Acres

Morning Glory Acres, 345 Tracey Dale Rd., Howard, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, May 16. The small family farm offers farm visits for individuals, families and groups, hands-on time with animals, game nights in the barn, seasonal and theme experiences, as well as barn rentals for events.

Tait Farm Harvest Shop

Sampling Saturdays at Tait Farm Harvest Shop, 179 Tait Rd., Centre Hall, are ways to taste-test Tait Farm Foods’ flavorful local products and be inspired to create your own appetizers, side dishes, entrees, and desserts. All sampling events are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

This month, the following events are planned:

  • May 9 – Fresh herb and jam crostini
  • May 16 – Savory sliders
  • May 23 – Tait Farm Jambalaya
  • May 30 – Summer noodle Asian salad

Happy Valley Dairy Delight Trail 

Some of central Pennsylvania’s best stops for farm fresh ice cream, cheese and other dairy products are available at the following sites along the Happy Valley Dairy Delight Trail.

Mother’s Day Craft Show 

Spend a beautiful day on the Way Fruit Farm, 2355 Halfmoon Valley Rd., Port Matilda with mom from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9. There will be 35 craft vendors, live music, and food vendors.

Stroll through a curated selection of local artisan vendors offering unique gifts, home goods, and garden essentials. Enjoy delicious food, beverages, and live music at

Rooted Farmstead,138 Scott Ave., Bellefonte. The event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.
