STATE COLLEGE — Following the State College Air Service Alliance’s announcement of new American Airlines service between State College and Charlotte, State College Regional Airport is marking a significant operational milestone for the airport and delivering expanded travel options for passengers across Central Pennsylvania.
The new service will operate two round trip flights on most days of the week. Scheduled departures from State College Regional Airport are planned for 6:35 a.m. and 4:53 p.m., with arriving flights scheduled for 4:28 p.m. and 11:31 p.m. This new service will offer a single connection to over 170 destinations offered on American Airlines. Tickets are available for booking now through American Airlines and authorized travel booking channels.
With the October launch approaching, State College Regional Airport and American Airlines are actively engaged in coordinated implementation planning to ensure a successful and seamless service introduction.
This new service reflects the continued growth of the State College Regional Airport as the region’s commercial air gateway. Over the past year, the authority has laid the foundation for growing air service by reducing expenses and committing to increased marketing assistance. This incentive package saves the airlines well over $1.1 million dollars.
United Airlines is growing air service this year by adding an additional 26,000 seats over the previous year.
The authority is working to modernize payment options for parking and to make other improvements to make flying local even more convenient. Travelers are encouraged to book early and monitor airport communications for launch updates.
