In 2013, the State College Sunrise Rotary Club established the annual Four-Way Test
Award Ceremony to honor volunteer emergency responders who have shown exceptional
dedication to service in our community. Each year, an honoree and their respective
organization receive a personalized plaque inscribed with the Rotary logo and the Four-
Way Test. In 2025, Alpha Fire Company responded to 1,697 incidents, Boalsburg Fire
Company to 231 incidents, and Centre LifeLink EMS to 7,002 incidents. This totaled
8,930 incidents and 123,352 volunteer hours, equating to over $4M in service value to our
community. Pictured from left are this year’s honorees, Muthler of Centre LifeLink EMS; Boalsburg Fire Co. Chief Van Winter accepting an award for Aly Bear; Janet Welsh of Alpha Fire Co.; club President Mike Majewski and program chair Lam Hood.
