STATE COLLEGE — The State College area’s third medical marijuana dispensary officially opened its doors on April 23.
PharmaCann Inc. has opened a Verilife dispensary in the former Home D Pizzeria building at 1820 S. Atherton St.
“We are thrilled that our new Verilife State College location will help us serve even more patients in this fast-growing region,” David Chiovetti, president of Verilife, said in a statement.
The College Township dispensary is Verilife’s eighth in Pennsylvania. The company confirmed plans for the location last summer, shortly after Home D permanently closed.
Phase one of the opening will give registered Pennsylvania medical marijuana patients access to Verilife’s product line, which includes a selection of flower, concentrates, vapes, tinctures and topical salves.
The second phase, which is expected to be completed this summer, will expand the store with full interior build-out and “an enhanced experience,” according to a news release.
Verilife’s listed hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Friday.
All three of Centre County’s medical marijuana dispensaries are located within a 5-mile stretch of Atherton Street.
Curaleaf opened in February in the former Citizens Bank building at 1248 S. Atherton St. in State College.
Ayr Wellness, formerly Nature’s Medicines, is at 2105 N. Atherton St. in Patton Township. Nature’s Medicines opened in 2018 and was the county’s first dispensary after Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Program was signed into law in 2016.
