BOALSBURG — The St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy girls’ basketball team had a massively successful season in 2024-25, and three of the returning seniors from that team have signed to play in college to further advance their careers.

All-State First Team guard Naomi Crispin and forward-center Aubrey Yartz announced that they will both be attending West Chester University and joining the Golden Rams’ basketball team.

Senior forward Jacee Cunningham announced that she will be attending Chestnut Hill College and playing on the Griffins’ basketball team.

All three players were instrumental in the successes of the WolfPack last season.

Crispin, who already surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her career, was the leading scorer for the team, while Yartz and Cunningham were second and third.

Yartz and Cunningham did most of the rebounding work for the team, and Yartz averaged over 20 rebounds per game in the 2025 playoffs.

“Naomi is very fundamentally sound and she’s a competitor,” SJCA head coach Bethany Irwin said. “She loves to compete, and she loves to push herself. I don’t have to ask her to run hard on the floor; she just does.

“And she is a great kid to be around, and a great teammate. Any team would benefit from having someone like Naomi on their team.

“In regards to Aubrey, she is another one who is fundamentally sound and who works hard. I mean, there are always things you can improve, and she has been trying to improve herself since day one that I’ve known her. She is always trying to incorporate new things into her game, and she is very, very coachable.

“And Jacee is very athletic and easily coached, and I’ve seen that she is continually gaining more confidence the more she plays. She is taking more chances and always trying to improve.”

With the winter seasons fast approaching, the local high school teams will begin practice on Nov. 14.

Crispin, Yartz, Cunningham and the rest of the WolfPack will open their season on Nov. 28 at the Bishop Carroll Tip-Off Tournament in Johnstown.
