STATE COLLEGE — American Airlines announced new nonstop service from State College (SCE) to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in North Carolina, which will operate on Saturdays only in March and April.
This new flight will serve key connections to spring break destinations such as Florida and the Caribbean.
“This flight will only operate seasonally for the peak spring break/Easter season, but depending on how the demand is for the flight, it could be used as a building block for additional service in the future,” said Jim Meyer, executive director of the Centre County Airport Authority.
Starting Jan. 9, Delta has twice-daily flights to the newly renovated LaGuardia Airport (LGA). New York Cityhas been one of the most requested direct flights from State College.
The new route will be serviced by CRJ-900 jets with 70 or 76 seats. In addition to abundant main cabin seating, this aircraft includes First Class and Delta Comfort+.
