PHILIPSBURG — Originally scheduled to take place at the Rustic Ridge Farm in West Decatur on Saturday, June 27, the annual Vet Fest was moved to the Philipsburg YMCA because of the inclement weather.
The Fest is an event and resource fair for those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, their families, caregivers and dependents along with active service members.
The event spotlighted many different resources, programs, services and benefits that members can take advantage of as well as door prizes, food venders, and entertainment.

Some of the many organizations in attendance were the Blair County and Centre County Veterans Affairs Offices, Clear Path for Veterans, Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home, the Altoona VA Medical Center, PA National Guard, the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Reserve Component Transition Assistance, United Disability Services, US Air Force, the Veterans Business Outreach Center and the Veterans Multi-Service Center.
There were other organizations such as Penn State Altoona, UPMC Health, CenClear and the Penn State College of Medicine in attendance, and everyone had ideas, programs and services that could help veterans and their families.
Because of the move, the space in the YMCA was somewhat limited, but the event was well-attended and every station had many visitors and questions.
