STATE COLLEGE — The second annual Winter Wonderland Craft and Vendor fair — held at the Delta school building, across from State High on Westerly Parkway in State College, on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — will bring together local artists, artisans, crafters and student vendors to raise money to support the State College Delta program.
Already quickly becoming a favorite event of both the school and wider community, the fair will feature a wide selection of local arts, crafts, jewelry, home goods, books and other items from more than two dozen local vendors — making a perfect holiday shopping experience, complete with a gift-wrapping station. Community members are welcome to bring outside gifts with them to have wrapped while they explore the fair.
“The Winter Wonderland Craft and Vendor Fair is becoming not only one of Delta’s signature events, but also a must-attend signature event for our local community as they enjoy the winter and holiday season,” said Crystal Lee Garrett, fundraising chair for the Delta Parent Teacher Student Organization. “As a school focused on community engagement and service, this event embodies so much of what makes Delta and our wider State College community so great.”
Delta is a middle and high school within the State College school district that operates according to the democratic process, empowering students and giving them a voice in their curriculum and education. One important value of the program is community outreach and service, which is reflected in how the fair builds bridges to the local community and brings together local vendors and artists.
Funds raised through the event go toward the Delta PTSO to support educational and outreach activities throughout the year.
In addition to the craft and vendor fair, the event will also include a silent auction with a wide range of goods and prizes donated by local businesses and organizations, including 2000 Degrees Pottery Studio, UEC 12 theaters, Campus Steaks, Marzoni’s, Elixir Coffee Roasters, the Original Waffle Shop, the Downtown Improvement District, Pure Barre, Hotworx, Centre LGBT+ and more.
“The Winter Wonderland fair is so great because it supports everyone: students, student artists, local artists, our school and the wider community,” Madison Judy, a current Delta student and volunteer with the fair, shared. “It’s so nice to see everyone come together to support each other, and it gives us a chance to share with the community what makes Delta such a special place.”
All members of the local community are invited to join the fair on Saturday, Dec. 7, to find that perfect holiday gift, support local vendors and artists and support the Delta program and its students.
