PHILIPSBURG — When it comes to helping feed the community, there’s no better helper than the Centre County YMCA.

According to a news release, the event will feature breakout sessions on starting a food program, supply chains, sustaining a program, rural anti-hunger, building partnerships and volunteer recruitment. Following the breakout sessions, there will be a Q&A session.
During the morning session, a model program used to combat hunger will be introduced. There will also be a 90-minute break for lunch.
There will be a stellar lineup of guest speakers at the event. They include: U.S. Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson, PA State Rep. Scott Conklin, Michelle Stiner, Executive Director of Central PA Community Action, Mel Curtis, the Director of the YMCA of Centre County’s Anti-Hunger Program and Samuel Chasin, Sr., Manager of Youth Development Partnerships and Policy, Government Relations and Policy.
