StateCollege.com and Onward State are Happy Valley’s two leading independent news outlets. Onward State is Penn State’s largest student-run newsroom; StateCollege.com is the region’s go-to source for local news, sports, and business. We’re hiring a Level 1 Sales Representative to grow the Onward State partner program along with expanding the StateCollege.com advertising base — connecting local and regional businesses with the Penn State students and Happy Valley readers they want to reach.
You’ll own new partner development day-to-day, with hands-on coaching and a defined ramp plan to set you up to win.
What you’ll do
- Use proven prospecting strategies to lead outreach to local and regional businesses
- Identify each prospect’s goals and show how our audience helps them grow
- Close partner sponsorships and build lasting relationships with our partners
- Manage your pipeline in HubSpot and keep your data clean and current
- Cross-sell packages across both sites and represent both brands in the community
What you’ll sell
Partner sponsorships, display advertising, newsletter sponsorships, and sponsored/native content across OnwardState.com and StateCollege.com.
What about experience?
We’d love a driven candidate with some sales under their belt — but experience isn’t everything. We’re just as happy to train the right person who brings the passion, communication skills, and hustle to grow into the role.
