This year’s theme, “Cultivating Peace: Relationships, Resources, and Reciprocity,” invites us to come together as neighbors, people of faith and conscience, and members of one community to pause, remember, and renew our commitment to peace. In a world and a nation too often wounded by violence, fear, isolation, and loss, this vigil is an act of hope: a shared witness that peace is possible when we choose nonviolence, listen deeply, build relationships across differences, and care for one another with courage and compassion. Together, we will honor those harmed by gun violence, stand with all who grieve, and recommit ourselves to preventing violence before it occurs. We will also reflect on how cultivating relationships, sharing resources, and practicing reciprocity can strengthen the networks of trust, support, and mutual responsibility that make lasting peace possible.
