Amy Jo Benner, 55, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Embassy of Hearthside in State College. Born on May 9, 1969, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Benner and Deborah (Garner) Benner, who survives at her home.
Amy Jo was a 1990 graduate of State College Area High School. She attended services at New Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed coloring and being out and about, especially when she was able to go shopping. Whether she was with children or her adored cats, the nurturing side of her would always shine through! She also looked forward to the Grange Fair each year.
In addition to her mother, Deborah, she is survived by an uncle and numerous aunts and cousins.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, January 6, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Dornan officiating. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
