Anthony S. “Tony” McClusick, 70, of Snow Shoe, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at UPMC Altoona. Born on June 15, 1955, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Stephen and Shirley (Askey) McClusick. In 2018, he married Loretta “Lori” Stokes, who survives.
Tony was a 1973 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. After working briefly at JH France Refractory, he pursued his lifelong dream of owning an auto repair shop. For over 40 years, he proudly operated T/M Auto Service in Snow Shoe, earning the trust and gratitude of many in the community.
A man of deep community spirit, Tony was a member of Queen of Archangels Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe. Over the years, he was also involved with numerous local organizations, including the Clarence American Legion, Clarence Moose, the Young Democratic Club of Clarence, Snow Shoe Fire Hall, and the Snow Shoe VFW.
Tony loved being social and was known for his quick wit, warm demeanor, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Whether playing a competitive game of pool or darts—often as part of club teams—or lending a hand in the garage, Tony made lasting connections everywhere he went. His generosity with his time and mechanical talents left a lasting impact on countless friends and neighbors.
Beyond work and community, Tony enjoyed hunting, riding dirt bikes, and taking trips to the casino.
In addition to his wife, Lori, Tony is survived by his two children: Jennifer Fisher of Bellefonte and Michael McClusick (Carla) of Snow Shoe; four stepchildren: Kurt Grindell, Art Grindell, Adam Fisher, and Mary Royer, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Melanie Witherite, and her life partner, Marty Burns, of Port Matilda.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mark and Steven McClusick; stepson Eric Laird, stepdaughter, Julie Grindell, and his son-in-law, Kevin Fisher.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. A funeral service will follow at 12 Noon with Father Matthew Laffey officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Snow Shoe.
