Beatrice D. Brace, age 98, of Coalport, formally of State College, died at home on June 7, 2025. She was born in Paoli, PA on July 26,1926, to the late John F. and Sophie (Dolan) Dixon. On June 18, 1949 she married Alan R. Brace who preceded her in death on July 16, 2006.
She was a retired Health and Physical Education teacher in the State College Area School District. Beatrice was a member of St. Basil the Great Roman Catholic Church in Coalport, the Alar Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary. Her faith in God shone brightly to all persons she encountered, most of whom knew her as Gramma Bea.
She is survived by a son, Richard D. Brace and his wife Anita, two daughters, Joanne B. Weyers and her husband Richard, and Carol B. Lux and her husband Gregory; three grandchildren, Sean Weyers, Ryan Weyers and his wife Beth, and Marie Brace Danielle Florian and her husband Daniel; two great grandchildren, Liam Florian and Donovan Florian; one niece, Linda Kern and her husband Jeff.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing or services. A Funeral Mass will be held for family and friends at St. Basil the Great Church on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, celebrated by the Reverend Marc Solomon and the Committal Rite will be held graveside at the Centre County Memorial Park on June 12, 2025, the Reverend George Jackopac of Our Lady of Victory Church, State College officiating.
