Benjamin F. Kern, Jr. 77, of rural Bellefonte passed away at his residence on Monday, December 26, 2022. Ben was born on September 15, 1945 in Petersburg, Huntingdon Co. Pa., a son of the late Benjamin F. and Alice R. Brenneman Kern, Sr. Ben is survived by his wife the former Jessie (Stuchell) Kern, at home. Also surviving are his children Trevor Kern of Alexandria, Pa. Tara Petro of Pittsburgh, Pa, Cathy Augustine, of Valencia, Pa. Thomas Kocher of Corsica, Pa and Tammy Woodward of Kannapolis NC,; his 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, William Kern of Tyrone, Betty Lou Price of Chambersburg, Paul Kern of Mt. Union, Randy Kern of Altoona, Jenny Gummo of Petersburg, Sandy Wilson of Three Springs, and Carol Kern of Newry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Richner Kern; his son, Dustin M. Kern, and his siblings David Kern, Robert Kern, Sharon Kern, Dennis Kern and Martha Price.
Ben was employed as a laborer at Cerro Metal Products in Bellefonte before his retirement. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a member of Yarnell United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports on TV.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
