Blair C. “Lum” Confer, 78 , went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his home in Monument, Pa. He was born on November 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Franklin E. and Leah Thompson Confer. He grew up in the town of Orviston and always liked to reminisce about his childhood days there.
He was a graduate of the former Lock Haven High School.
On June 15, 1963, he married the love of his life, Jane M. Wensel. Together they shared over 57 amazing years together.
He was a member of the Orviston Bible Church where he served as usher and financial secretary, a position he really devoted himself to.
He was a member of the Senior Cheer of Beech Creek and helped with activities of the Monument Festival. For many years he played Santa for their Christmas tree lighting. He enjoyed doing word search puzzles and sitting on the front porch in warm weather. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, collecting memorabilia and usually had a shirt or hat with them on. He also enjoyed going to the Grange Fair each summer.
Blair retired 16 years ago and enjoyed spending time with his family which includes his wife, two sons Craig C. (Kellie) Confer of Monument and Corey C. (Wesli) Confer of New Berlin, NY. He was also dubbed “The greatest Pap in the whole wide world” by his grandsons, Corey (Erin) Confer Jr., Caleb Confer and granddaughter Megan (Cody) Witherite. His “littles”, (great grandchildren) which were the lights of his life include Kendra, Kyle, Hazel, Kynsleigh, Harper and William. He is also survived by his sisters; Ann Williams and Maryellen (Tom) Pletcher and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. with the Pastor Karl Steele officiating. Friends and family will be received from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Romola Cemetery, Howard.
