Charles R. Lyons, of Lewistown, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was 86. Born March 1, 1939, in Bellefonte, Chuck was a son of the late Samuel and Lola (Shaffer) Lyons. He was a 1957 graduate of Bellefonte High School. He married Diana M. Crader who preceded him in death on in 2003. He served our country from 1957-1965 in the 112 Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Upon his return home, Chuck was employed with the Bellefonte Borough Police Department. He also worked at Fullington as a bus driver and Davidson Trucking as a truck driver. Chuck was a member of the VFW Post #7011 in Lewistown, the Lewistown Moose #143, the Yeagertown Fire Company and the Lewistown City Hook and Ladder #14. He had previously attended the Assembly of God in Yarnell. Chuck enjoyed playing bingo and cards, eating out and watching old western movies.
Chuck is survived by his longtime companion, Maxine Everly and Maxine’s children and grandchildren, who he considered his family…..Lisa Salyards (Louie), Laura Diehl, Barry Everly and Ethan Everly and grandchildren, Joy, Holly, Benjamin, Gabriel, Andi, Shelby and Seth. In addition to his wife, Chuck was preceded in death by Maxine’s daughter, Rebecca Morales.
