Connie B. Summers, formerly of Centre Hall, passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 17, 2025, at Centre Care in Bellefonte. She was 79. Born February 27, 1946, in Bellefonte, Connie was the daughter of the late Paul D. and Alta J. “Albright” Long. On November 29, 1964, Connie married Jerry Summers who survives.
Connie was employed in food services at several local nursing homes. She enjoyed serving others. Connie took loving care of her mother-in-law and husband nursing them back to health. She loved being in the kitchen cooking and canning. Her family was a very important part of her life as well. She loved family gatherings and playing games. She also enjoyed singing, and listening to gospel music.
Connie is survived by one daughter, Amanda Weaver (Kent) of Aaronsburg: two sons, Wade Summers (Marlene) of Howard and Johnathan Summers (Jennifer) of Puyallup, Washington: three brothers, David Long of Centre Hall, Paul Long of State College and Dennis Long (Barbara) of Centre Hall. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Derek, Shalena, Dillon, Violet, Bryanna and Brant, as well as three great grandchildren.
A public visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Penns Valley God’s Missionary Church on Rte. 45, Spring Mills, on Friday March 21, 2025. The funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Nathan Walter officiating. Connie will be laid to rest in Meyer Cemetery in rural Bellefonte.
