Debra K. Kotzur, 73, of Howard, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on January 21, 1951, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Lois (Miller) Confer. On September 15, 1972, she married Scott K. Kotzur, her devoted husband, who survives her.
Debra was a 1969 graduate of Lock Haven High School and spent over 20 years as a mail clerk at Penn State University before retiring. She was a faithful member of the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church.
A woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures, Debra cherished the beauty of nature, often taking long drives through the mountains with her husband, Scott, to admire God’s creation. She also loved traveling whenever she could, looking forward to exploring new places. Above all, Debra found the greatest joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Owen and Claudia, and creating lasting memories with them.
Debra is survived by her husband, Scott; their two children, Lisa K. Irvin (Troy) of Howard and Darren S. Kotzur of Howard; her two cherished grandchildren, Owen and Claudia Irvin; and one sister, Darlene Berry (Fred) of Beech Creek.
In keeping with Debra’s wishes, all services will be private. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at Schenck’s Cemetery in Howard.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion.
