Dennis Hartsock, 63, of Julian, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and long-term friend Gary Reese, on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on July 2, 1960, in Philipsburg, PA. Dennis graduated from Bedford High School in 1978. He worked as a Gage Mechanic and Technician for Corning Ashai Incorporated from 1987 – 2003.
Dennis is survived by his daughter, Britanie Shope of Madara (Daniel Davis), and two grandchildren, Alyssa Marie and Danny Jr. He is also survived by his two brothers, Ronald Hartsock (Diane Tressler) of Julian and Albert (Wendy Jo) Hartsock of Howard; his mother, Jane (Harold) Millard, of Bellefonte; his stepmother, Donna Hartsock, of Bedford; his nieces and nephew (Rachael, Heather, Kristen, and Caleb), along with many friends. His father, Albert ”Abe” Hartsock, preceded him in death.
Dennis was a compassionate soul whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Dennis’s passion for nature was evident in his love for hunting and his commitment to feeding the wildlife around his property. His bond with his faithful furry companion, Josey, was a testament to the love and support he provided for those around him.
Dennis’s presence on the golf course, in the woods, or around the card table was always accompanied by his warm heart and generous spirit. He shared his passions with others, spreading joy and camaraderie wherever he was.
May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew him. He will forever reside in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Dennis’s name to the Mount Nittany Hospital/Medical Surgical Orthopedic Unit, at 1800 E. Park Avenue, State College, PA 16803, who so graciously cared for him at the time of his passing.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Services, Inc. in Bellefonte.
