Dennis R. Warfield, 61, of State College, passed away at home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born on March 30, 1963, in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Richard Claude Warfield and Delores DePiero. He was also the son of his adoptive parents, the late Albert Simon, and Suzanne Simon who survives at her home in Harrisburg.
Dennis was a 1982 graduate of Williamsport High School. He then went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. He worked in teaching and learning with technology as a system’s administrator for Penn State University for 31 years until his retirement in February 2024.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two children, Adam Warfield of State College and Elise Warfield of Jersey City, NJ, and one grandson, Shaan Parikh of Jersey City, NJ. Also surviving are his siblings, Keith Warfield of Simi Valley, CA, Brian Warfield of Philadelphia, PA, Paula Simon Zielinski of Harrisburg, PA, Steven Glenn Simon of Scottdale, PA, and Scott Howard Simon of Wilmington, DE.
Dennis was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed hockey as a sport. He always looked forward to spending his summers and free time in Ocean City, MD to lay on the beach and eat at his favorite restaurants.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
