Doris G. Stover, 69, of Spring Mills, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 17, 2021. Born on July 3, 1951in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ida (Neff) Burge. On August 26, 2005 in Las Vegas, she married Gerald L. “Jerry” Stover, who survives at home.

Doris graduated from West Branch High School. She was a library assistant at Penn State University until 2011 when she retired after 20 years of service.

Doris enjoyed working around the house and tending to the flower gardens. She was an avid reader and loved to sit and watch the hummingbirds come in to eat. She was a kind, loving, and selfless woman. She did not like the attention to be on her, but she loved to give her attention to her family and friends. She was the caretaker of the family, listening and helping any way she could. Most of the time, you did not realize just how much she paid attention to you until you received an unexpected package in the mail, something she felt would help or assist you in whatever you were going through at the time. Family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Doris is survived by two daughters, Laurie A. Hull and her husband, Willis Hull, Jr, of Clearfield and Jamey L. Shaw and her husband, Kevin, of Shiloh; one stepdaughter, Candi Dirian and her husband, Dean, of Newmanstown; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Etzweiler and her husband, Dennis, and Shirley Houdeshell, both of Munson.

Along with her parents, Doris was preceded in death by one stepson, Gerald L. Stover, Jr; four brothers, Ronald and Donald Chakan and Robert and Wayne Burge; and two sisters, Donna Cuzson and Judy Bruno.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11am.
