Faye M. Emel, 76, of rural Bellefonte passed away at Geisinger Medical Center on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Faye was born in Lock Haven on December 10, 1944, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Hazel (Richner) Sayers. On July 11, 1964 she married Luther J. “Luke” Emel, who preceded her in death on March 18, 2021. Faye is survived by her son, Luke J. Emel-Firestone of Millsboro, DE; her daughter, Sarah Zimmerman of Bellefonte and her brothers William T. (Helen) Griffith and Frank (Nancy) Sayers, both of rural Bellefonte. Also are surviving are her 8 grandchildren, Brooke, Skylar, Chase, Zane, Brydon, Quinn, Xander, Rowan and her great granddaughter, Phoebe. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Katie Sayers, Linda Pike and her brothers, Dale Sayers and Jerry Sayers.
Faye was a homemaker. She attended Summit Hill Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. A funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Timothy Moore officiating.
