Francis C. Auman, formerly of Spring Mills, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at Centre Care. He was 80. Born October 3, 1945, in Bellefonte, Francis was a son of the late Herbie C. and Ethel M. (Musser) Auman. On February 25, 1967, he married the former Ruth Bowman who survives.
Francis was employed by the former Houser Vending Company which later became Bittner Vending. He retired with 35+ years of service. In his earlier years, Francis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed thrifting, attending Grange Fair and the Nittany Antique Machinery Show, watching Penn State and Pittsburgh Steeler football and listening to 50’s & 60’s rock n roll.
In addition to his wife, Francis is survived by two daughters, Amy Auman of Bellefonte and Tammy Auman of Allentown: one son, Scott Auman of Centre Hall and three siblings, Arlene Swanger (John) of State College, Larry D. Auman (Toni) and Harold L. Auman, both of Millheim.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00 am until noon on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral will follow at noon with Pastor Randy Barker officiating. Francis will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Francis may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
