Franklin “Frank/Butch” Thomas Hufnagle, 72, of Howard died peacefully at his farm in New Columbia on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born in Danville, PA on September 25, 195,1 to Andrew and Ruth Hufnagle who preceded him in death.
Frank grew up in Danville and graduated in 1969, from Danville High School. He went on to continue his education at Penn State University and graduated with a business degree in 1986.
He was a hard worker all of his life and worked a myriad of jobs: FoxNap in Milton, Lee Carpets in Bloomsburg, Philco in Williamsport, a bookkeeper at Reeds Brothers in Clearfield, surveyors assistant at Hess and Fischer Engineering in Clearfield, ad representative for the weekly newspaper The Centre Democrat in Bellefonte and the Centre Daily Times in State College, bartender at Village Inn Pizza shop in State College, selling auto parts and building supplies for HW Raymond Inc in Lock Haven, technical support for CenturyLink, field representative for the Census Bureau, and he was a volunteer for DCNR at Bald Eagle State Park.
On February 22, 1975, he married his soulmate Marty Rogers at the Center Grove Methodist Church in Hyde.
His joie de vivre was contagious. He held a brown belt in Aikido, he loved to go camping, fishing, hunting and riding his BMW motorcycle with his wife traveling all over the country. Frank enjoyed practicing Tai Chi, Qigong, walking, Graham Spanier, and photography. He was a bibliophile, a competitive auction bidder, antique collector, master of the Ukulele and Harmonica, a music lover, a true renaissance man. He didn’t like watching sports, but you could find him dancing the Polka, Waltz, Swing, Jitterbug, Tap, Modern and Slow.
Frank is survived by his wife Marty; brother Bob and his wife Maureen; four nieces: Amy, Sheena, Casey and Heather and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution to Centre Volunteers in Medicine, PA SPCA, Centre County Food Bank, The Faith Centre in Bellefonte, American Heart Association or the Howard United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 1-3PM at Singer Kader Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 135 W Main St. Howard, PA. A service will immediately follow with Chaplain Bill Stankowicz officiating.
