Friedrich J. “Frank” Krausser, 95, of State College, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born December 19, 1930, in Fuerth, Germany, he was the son of the late Friedrich and Helene Staudinger Krausser.
He is survived by his daughter, Rita K. Wood and her husband Gregory of Camillus, NY; and granddaughter, Adrianne Wood Canterbury and her husband Dylan of Cobleskill, NY; and former wife, Lois Krausser, of State College, PA. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Ruth Meyer Krausser in 2000; and by a grandson, Ryan Wood, in 2024.
Frank worked as a radio technician apprentice until 1949 when he began working for Grundig Radio Company in Germany. In 1956 he was recruited by Avery Fisher to work at Fisher Radio Corporation in America. He was promoted to Chief Engineer in 1969. He retired from Fisher after 31 years.
After coming to America, Frank lived with his wife and daughter in Flushing, NYC, and Jericho, Long Island, NY. In 1976 he moved to the State College area after transferring to the Fisher Radio division in Milroy, Pennsylvania where he became head of the Speaker division. He moved to Foxdale Village in State College in 2014.
Frank enjoyed reading, listening to music, watching TV, working with his computer, and cooking German dinners. He enjoyed traveling, and had visited Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan on business. After retiring he and his wife Ruth visited Austria, Germany, Canada, and most of the 50 states.
