Gerald K. “Jerry” Hale, of Centre Hall, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  He was 71.  Born September 4, 1949 in Ashland, Jerry was a son of the late Thomas K. and Eleanor “Miller” Hale.  Jerry was a 1969 graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy.  On December 18, 1976 in Minersville, he married Diane Brown who survives at their home in Centre Hall. 

In addition to his wife Jerry is survived by one daughter, Kalena E. Smith (Aaron) of Centre Hall; one son, Ryan K. Hale (Jessica) of Llewellyn; five grandchildren, Lillyanna and Cael Smith and Deacon, Lachlan and Evelyn Hale.  Also surviving are siblings, Bob Hale (Chris), Tim Hale (Janice), Rick Hale (Bernie) and Nonie Zukas (Frank).

Jerry was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring with 25 years of service.  He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Centre Hall.  Jerry was a horse lover and showed his beloved horses all across the United States.  He enjoyed hunting, archery and Penn State Football.  Jerry especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 10:00 am – noon at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim.  The funeral service will follow with Pastor Deb Dailey officiating.  Jerry will be laid to rest in the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerry may be given to Hope Fund of Penns Valley, PO  Box 427, Centre Hall, Pa 16828.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevenrnefffuneralhome.com.
