Gloria Jean Reese, 73, of Port Matilda, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Gloria was born on January 9, 1947 in Bellefonte, the daughter of the late Harry L. and Grace L. Tharp Johnson. On August 29, 1981, she married Samuel Reese who survives at home. Also surviving are her children, Linda (Ron) Barger of Tyrone, John(Jody) Spicer of Spring Mills, Robert (Sandy) Spicer of Spring Mills and Tim (Liz) Spicer, Sr. of Port Matilda, Cheryl Reese and Duane Reese of State College; her sisters Donna (Thomas) Wilson of rural Bellefonte and Sue (Terry) Rider of Bellefonte; her 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was a homemaker.
Gloria had been employed at K-Mart before her retirement. Gloria was a member of Black Oak United Methodist Church. She was a member of Halfmoon Grange and a life member of Port Matilda EMS and Port Matilda Fire Co. She also served on the Grange Fair Board, served as a Campground Host at Black Moshannon and was a Member of the Gospel Group “Heavenly Road”. Gloria also loved to sew for everyone and anyone.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Port Matilda Fire Co., P. O. Box 472, Port Matilda, PA 16870 in memory of Gloria J. Reese.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
