Harold D. McKivison, 93, formerly of Blanchard, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at his home in Howard. Born on May 1, 1932, in Pine Grove Mills, he was the son of the late James and Olive (Ellenberger) McKivison. On January 21, 1955, he married Beulah G. Woodring. She passed away in 2006.
Harold was employed at Piper Aircraft from 1953 until it’s closing in 1984. He then went to work at Antrim Mining until he was eligible for retirement.
He was a lifetime member of the Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Company. He served the Beech Creek-Blanchard Ambulance Association as an EMT at one time and did clerical work until 2024.
Throughout his life, Harold enjoyed gardening, hunting, watching sports, especially Penn State and Pittsburgh Steeler football, and going on vacation with his wife. Myrtle Beach was their favorite vacationing spot. He and Beulah, along with their tailgate family, would attend Penn State home games and traveled many times to the away games and bowl games. He maintained a large vegetable garden until his passing, often giving away much of his harvest to family and friends.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Debbie McKivison of Howard; grandson, Brian McKivison and his wife, Kym, of Schaefferstown, PA; and a great granddaughter, Lyra. He is also survived by a sister, Veda Beaver of Howard, and a brother, Benny McKivison of Beech Creek.
Along with his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by his son, Kenny McKivison in 2024; two sisters and eleven brothers.
Harold wanted no public services. His wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Beulah, at Hayes-Farron Cemetery in Beech Creek.
