Jacqueline P. Hall, known affectionately to family and friends as Jacque, of State College, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 4, 2026, in the town where she was born and spent her life, at the age of 90.
Jacque was born on November 20, 1935, in State College, Pennsylvania, to Maynard and Minerva (Bittinger) Peters, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in State College and graduated from State College High School with the class of 1953. After high school, she attended nursing school at Geisinger Hospital, beginning a lifelong pattern of care, service, and devotion to others that would define her years.
On August 29, 1954, she married Robert L. Hall, M.D., who also preceded her in death. Together they built a loving home and a family that remained the center of Jacque’s life. She was a devoted mother to Deborah Hall, Bob Hall and his wife Jane, and Mike Hall and his wife Judy. She was a proud grandmother to Tyler, Wesley, Connor, Philip, Michael, and Emily, and a delighted great-grandmother to Henry, Bobby, Willa, and Jack. She also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Mullen. Her brother, Manfred Peters, preceded her in death.
Jacque was a woman of quiet strength and generous spirit. She lived her life and carried her beliefs in the way she treated others, with kindness, patience, and grace. She was loving in all that she did, kind in her words and actions, and generous with her time, her attention, and her heart. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who made others feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
Her life was rooted in family and community. She embraced the role of mother and grandmother with joy and purpose, and she treasured the moments spent with those she loved most. She also gave of herself through service and involvement in the Centre Community Hospital Auxiliary, where she supported the work of caring for others. As a Girl Scout leader, she shared her encouragement and guidance with young people, helping shape their confidence and character. Her life on the farm, where she helped raise cattle, reflected her strong work ethic, her appreciation for the land, and her willingness to do whatever was needed with steadfast dedication.
Jacque enjoyed life’s many simple and meaningful pleasures. She loved playing golf and platform tennis, and she found happiness in cross-country skiing and traveling throughout Europe. These interests reflected her energetic spirit, her curiosity about the world, and her enjoyment of both companionship and adventure. Whether at home in State College or traveling abroad, she brought warmth and enthusiasm to the experiences she cherished.
She will be remembered not only for the many roles she fulfilled, but also for the way she fulfilled them. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and neighbor whose presence brought comfort and steadiness to those around her. Her life was one of devotion, and her legacy will live on in the family she loved, the lives she touched, and the example she set through her kindness and generosity.
Jacqueline P. Hall’s long and meaningful life was a blessing to all who knew her. Her memory will be treasured with love and gratitude by her family and by all whose lives were made better by her gentle spirit.
