James C. “Jim” Bathurst, 75, of Eagleville, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on November 09, 2024. Born on March 22, 1949, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Charles and Ellen (Gardner) Bathurst. Fifty-eight years ago, on November 25, 1966, in Blanchard, he married the love of his life, Betty Dietz. Betty survives at home.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was a dedicated employee for HRI, retiring in 2013, after 41 years of service as a Superintendent.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling with his wife and family, woodworking and tinkering around in his yard with his tractor. He looked forward to all the holidays with family gatherings, especially all the picnics. He loved his family and treasured his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his charm, wit, and sense of humor.

Jim is survived by his wife, five children: DeAnna L. Heggenstaller and her fiancé, Stephen, of Woolrich, Dawn R. Carson and her husband, Wes, of Jersey Shore, Joseph J. Bathurst of Eagleville, Pam S. Confer and her husband, Elmer, of Beech Creek, and Chad W. Bathurst and his wife, Leeann, of Blanchard; nine grandchildren: Lance Heggenstaller and his wife Erin of Eugene, Oregon, Brett Heggenstaller of Lamar, Brittany Bathurst-Jordan and her husband Josh of Howard, Wesley Carson of Jersey Shore, Courtney Confer and her partner Heath of Beech Creek, Darcy Heggenstaller and her fiancé Logan of Jersey Shore, Kylie Confer of Beech Creek, Johnny Shreffler of Lock Haven, and Jessalyn Bathurst and her partner Josh of Jersey Shore; and six great grandchildren: Colden, Hunter, Ryder, Rylee, Ava, and Taliyah.

He is also survived by three siblings: Foster Sayers and his wife, Sydney, of Howard, Eileen Hall and her husband, Francis, of Julian, and Corinne Grubb and her husband, Bob, of Lamar; a brother in-law, William Dietz and his wife, Nell, of Dunkirk, Maryland; two sister in-law, Barb Hanley and her husband, Alvin of Blanchard, and Hilda Dietz of Quimby, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Waite, a brother, Michael Bathurst, and two brothers in-law, Jerry Dietz and Bobby Dietz.

There will be a public visitation on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 5-7pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg. Funeral service will follow at 7pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Craig Rose officiating.
