James R. Bowmaster, 83 of Bellefonte passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home. Jim was born on July 15, 1938 in Mill Hall, a son of the late Claude S. and Dorothy Romig Bowmaster. On February 1, 1958, he married Mona Williams who survives at home. Also surviving are his sons, Terry L. (Wendy) Bowmaster of Julian and Timothy S. (Sherry) Bowmaster of Linwood, NC; also surviving are his 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Anna R. DeLaney of Jersey Shore and Dottie Swartz of Bellefonte.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James R. Bowmaster, Jr., his 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Bowmaster, Jason Bowmaster and Emily Bowmaster, and his 2 brothers Robert Bowmaster and Nick Bowmaster. Jim was a veteran having served his country in the U. S. Army.
Before his retirement, he was a Tool and Die Maker at Cerro Copper and Brass in Bellefonte. Jim was a member a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He was a member of Logan Grange # 109, treasurer of the Grange Fair, he also managed the gates at the Grange Fair. He was a lifetime member of the Undine Fire Co. # 2 and enjoyed gardening.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 5:00 P. M. – 7:00 P. M. at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg. Funeral Services will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1089 E. College Ave., Bellefonte, PA at 11:00 A. M. on Monday, May 16, 2022, with Pastor Robert Dornan officiating. Burial will be in Madisonburg West Central Cemetery, Madisonburg, PA.


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Dean K. Wetzler and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg, PA.
