Janice C. Jodon, 78, of State College, passed away at home on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born on April 21, 1946, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Nevin and Catherine (Williams) Jodon.
Janice was a 1964 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. As an aspiring hair stylist, she pursued a career in cosmetology, training in California under Paul Mitchell. She later had a very successful salon in downtown State College called Images 3. Over the years she was able to forge lifelong friendships with many of her clients. While she never wanted to fully leave her work, she semi-retired in 2020 after 20+ years in the business.
She is survived by her son, Michael Westcott of Laguna Hills, California, and four grandchildren: Hailey Westcott of Phoenix, AZ, Bryson Westcott of Las Vegas, NV, Lauren Westcott of San Juan Capistrano, CA, and Tanyon Westcott of Las Vegas, NV.
Janice loved working and helping people feel the best about themselves. She also loved to travel, being the happiest when she could travel to France and visit a couple of her favorite locations in Spain – her beloved Tossa de Mar and Barcelona. Never wanting life to pass her by, she made a point to travel when able to, recently taking a three-week trip just this year! She was a connoisseur of wine and deeply appreciated fine wine and champagne! Janice was also an animal lover, especially cats! Throughout the years, she aided in the rescue of numerous cats and adopted her feline friend, Coco, from Centre County PAWS. More than anything, she loved her family; her son and grandchildren were the brightest lights of her life. She leaves her family and friends with countless memories that they will forever hold dear in their hearts.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. A time of sharing will begin at 2:00 PM. Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
