Janice M ‘Speck’ Fleck

Janice M. “Speck” Fleck, 81, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her home. Born on May 24, 1939, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harold D. and Edna J. (Meyer) Fleck.

Speck was a 1957 graduate of Philipsburg/Osceola High School. She was of the Christian faith. She worked in the Food Services Department at Penn State University, retiring in 2002 after 35 years of service.

Speck was a simple person who enjoyed playing Bingo, going for car rides, and eating out. She loved to watch Penn State Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates on TV.

Speck is survived by her daughter, Michelle C. Bailey and her husband, Larry, of Snow Shoe, one brother, Dennis Fleck and his wife, Karen, of New Jersey, and one sister, Judith Rice and her husband, Randal, of State College. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Lacey Swarm of Centre Hall.

Along with her parents, Speck was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Fleck.

Following Speck’s wishes, all services will be private. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at the Centre County Memorial Park.
