Jason D. Dix, 51, of Spring Mills, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 28, 2022. Born on March 23, 1970, he was the son of David G. and Christine A. “Tina” (Mrazik) Dix.

Jason graduated from State College High School in 1988. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business at Penn State University in 1992. He started working for the family business, Dix Honda Dealership, in State College and worked his way into the position of GM. He had over 15 years of service with them before his health prevented him from continuing to work. The dealership was started by his grandfather. Jason loved it there and grew up in the business.

Jason enjoyed watching movies and reality television. He liked to spend time on the computer and believed that anything could be found on Amazon and perhaps it was his duty to find it. He loved the outdoors and animals, especially his donkeys. Some would say Jason could be stubborn, like a mule, at times, others would say he just knew what he wanted and would do whatever it took to make it happen. He was a member of the State College Masonic Lodge #700.

Jason spent 28 years married to Sherry A. Rothrock and they had two beautiful children together. He loved coaching little league in Penns Valley and would attend every baseball game or volleyball match his children were in. Nothing stopped him from attending, whether it was home or away, his children knew they could count on seeing him there.

Jason was a happy man, always smiling, and laughing as often as he could. He was an inspiration to many people. For those that are grieving his loss and those that knew and loved him, Jason left you a message. “Don’t forget, Jason wasn’t scared. He was anxious to see what was on the other side.”

Along with his parents and Sherry, Jason is survived by his daughter, Lindsey E. Dix and her significant other, Ryan K. Morris, of Chambersburg; his son, Connor Dix of Spring Mills, and his fiancé, Mary E. Kenny of State College; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family is following Jason’s wishing and holding a private Masonic Lodge Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave, Millvale, PA 15209.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc 228 S. Pennsylvania Ave., PO Box 579, Centre Hall, PA 16828. An online guest book can be signed or condolences to the family available at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
