John “Jack” Goga, 75, of State College, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born February 21, 1950, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Goga. On May 19, 1984, Jack married Sandy Baker, and they resided in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, where they raised their family for many years.
In addition to his loving wife, Jack is survived by his two children, Mark Goga of Harrisburg and Lauren Pratt and her husband Zach of Sparta, New Jersey; a sister, Marcy Cunningham and her husband Dave, a granddaughter, Addie; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack graduated from Norwin High School and attended Penn State University. He received a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and worked as a Licensed Psychologist. He served in many roles as a clinical therapist, and in later years as a behavioral health administrator. After retirement, he enjoyed writing and authored a children’s book addressing school gun violence.
He had a wonderful gift of communicating with people. He was a good listener who offered insight and encouragement to many. He touched many lives with his compassion, kindness, and humility.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway in State College, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
