John Stow “Jack” Palmer, 85, of Spring Mills, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, while surrounded by family at home. Born on May 16, 1937, in Haddon Heights, NJ, he was the son of the late George A. and Rachel A. (Stow) Palmer. On July 9, 1960, in Lancaster, he married the love of his life, June L. Evans, who survives at home.


Jack graduated from Wheaton Academy in 1955. He studied ministry at the Philadelphia Bible College and continued his education at the Gordon Bible College, earning his bachelors degree in 1960. He served various comminuties and congregations as a minister and retired in 2017, after 62 years of service.

Jack was a member of the Berean Bible Fellowship in Unionville. He loved spending time studying the bible and God’s word. He enjoyed the great outdoors, fly fishing in Penns Creek, and being surrounded by the beauty God created. He also enjoyed reading and woodworking.

Along with his wife, Jack is survived by: four children, Thomas D. Palmer and his wife, Patty, of Spring Mills, Cheri L. Pannebaker and her husband, Kevin, of Lebonnon, J. Scott Palmer and his wife, Bethany, of Searcy, AR, and Bradley J. Palmer and his wife, Sarah, of Russellville, AR; seventeen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He was the last of his generation.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 1-2pm at the First Baptist Church in Bellefonte. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2pm at the church with Jack’s three sons: Tom, Scott, and Brad officiating. Burial will be private at Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charities closest to Jack’s heart, the Boys & Girls Christian Home or the I.C.M. Bible College, both in India, C/O Palmer Revival Ministries, 731 Penns Creek Rd., Spring Mills, PA 16875.
