Jonathan T. “Jon” Kaczmar, 28, of Harrisurg, died from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on Monday, December 6, 2021, in State College. Born on December 10, 1992, at a military base in Seoul, Korea, he was the son of Jonathan P Kaczmar of Detroit, MI and Melinda D. (Dole) Gehres of Glen Burnie, MD.
Jon was a 2010 graduate of Arundel High School in Anne Arundel County, MD. He was currenting attending classes at Harrisburg Area Community College and recently received an acceptance letter to Penn State University for their business program. He was currently employed with Best Buy in their logistics department.
Jon loved to draw and was quite the artist. He recently attended a convention in Chicago, where he was commissioned to do various works. He was a kind and caring person that always strived to see the good in others. As a child, many would comment on how polite and sincere he was when he spoke. He had a large heart that loved endlessly. His hugs made the world feel like a safe and loving place. He will be missed by so many.
Along with his parents, Jon is survived by his mother’s husband, Robert C. Gehres, II; stepfather, Gabriel
A. Roman of Florida; his paternal grandparents, Paul T. Kaczmar of AZ and Louise Kaczmar of MI; his maternal grandparents, Ralph E Dole of Fayetteville, NC and Claire B. (Bowling) Dole of Odenton, MD; five siblings, Nicholas G. Roman of MD, Robert C. Gehres, III of AR, Gabby Roman of PA, Jessie Roman of PA, and Kaylissa (Gehres) Zinn of PA; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; two cousins that were very close to him, Jennah and Kaleb Mercil of MD; and his feline companion, Bear Cub.
Jon was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Kaol Kaczmar, who passed away on September 10, 1991.
A memorial service will be held for Jon on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 11am, at the Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. Chaplin Max W. Furman, retired, will be officiating. He will be laid to rest privately at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jim Thorpe, PA.
