Joseph E. Gilbert, 88, of Boalsburg, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born November 4, 1934, in Millheim, he was the son of the late Robert and Jean Reifsnyder Gilbert. On September 9, 1956, he married Bernadine Dorothy Confer, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William Gilbert and his wife Vickie of Boalsburg and Allen Gilbert and his wife Lucinda of Port Matilda; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Joseph worked as a model mechanic for Penn State University for 25 years. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially taking the RV on camping trips and to the Grange Fair. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved visiting with family and friends and having his dog Jingles close by his side.
A service will be held at a later date.
