udith Anne Machon, 64, of State College, died Monday, October 14, 2024, in Altoona, PA of natural causes.

Born August 13, 1960, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Danial Machon Sr. and late Patrica Ann Machon. On August 15, 1993 she married Dennis Peters who precedes her in death.

Surviving are her two children, Skylar Rebar and husband Nick Rebar of Ramey, and Jacob Daniel Machon Peters of Pittsburgh; four siblings, Patrica Thorwart and husband Mark Thorwart of State College, Ruth Machon of State College, Beth Machon of State College and Rachel Machon of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren, Quinn and Hudson Rebar. Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents is her brother Daniel Machon Jr.

Judy earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Chestnut Hill College in 1986. She went on to earn her Masters of Education Degree in Counselor Education from Penn State in 1988. She worked as a Family Mobile Therapist for FICS in Bellefonte, before retiring early in 2022.

Judy was a beacon of hope and light. She dedicated her life to serving and healing others. Her community benefited from her years of service in the Mental Health field and her work lives on in the hearts of those she touched. This service to others Judy also brought into her home she created for her family. She filled her home with traditions and memories that will outlast her time on Earth. She created magical holidays and Special Nights that Hallmark could have written a movie about. She was known to lend a listening ear to those who need it, and drop what she was doing to help a friend or family member in need. Her laughter was infectious and her smile, inviting. She was wise beyond her years and was always ready to give a piece of advice that you knew came from her heart. Judy could often be found with a Stephan King Novel, a slice of Domino’s pizza and a glass of Merlot. Judy was much like the shores of the Outer Banks; strong and independent, warm and inviting like the sun, soft and comforting like the soft sand and powerful and guiding like the waves.

Judy was far more stalwart than her small build would lend to, guiding the lost through dire circumstances at risk of her own life and well being. Those in her care would never know how much a bulwark she was and how cold the world could be in her absence. She would never fuss about the care she provided others and would lend an ear to anyone’s grief. Resilient and stubborn, Judy bore immense pains and grief, though none would be the wiser as she bent her ear to those in need. In times of crisis, when desperate people had nowhere to turn, no one could see the stout woman march ahead of the Kevlar vests and blaring sirens, armed with nothing but pure intentions. As Atlas held the world on his shoulders, Judy too cradled those around her in loving embrace. Indiscriminate, wanting nothing in return but their happiness.

Life was unfair to Judy in many ways. Her favorite place to be was always next to her best friend, her husband, Dennis. Her heart and soul are healed as they build their mansion in the sky, together forever again.

A celebration of life will be arranged for Judy. Please contact surviving children for information. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Covenant House of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) at https://www.covenanthousepa.org/ where Judy was a monthly donor and longtime supporter.
