Lester E. Stover, of Spring Mills, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  He was 88.  Born February 2, 1934 in Spring Mills, Lester was a son of the late Seymore M. and Pauline S. “Confer” Stover.  He was a 1951 graduate of the former Gregg Township Vocational School.  On April 5, 1955 he married Betty M. “Zimmerman” Stover who survives.

Lester was last employed as a foreman for Glen O. Hawbaker at a local stone quarry.  He retired in 2001 with 50 + years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, reading, keeping track of his investments, going to the casinos, vegetable gardening and feeding the deer and birds.  He was a member of the NRA, Spring Mills Fish N Game and the Gregg Township Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, Lester is survived by six children, Catherine “Kitty” Stover-Foor (Lynn), Deb Meeker (Steve), Lester Stover (Carol), Patricia Thornhill (Virgil), Calvin Stover (Amy) and, Jody Young (Paul); four siblings, Dolores Earnest, Barbara Butts (Frank), James Stover (Kay) and Frederick Stover; twenty three grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Lester was preceded in death by one daughter, Anne Stover, one grandson, Scott Richardson, one infant great grandson, C.J. Kindle, two sisters, Diana J. King and Joyce B. Tressler and, one brother, Gary P. Stover.

In accordance with family wishes, all services are private.  Lester will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery in rural Spring Mills.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be given to Penns Valley EMS, 106 Ross Hill Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875 or to The Hope Fund of Penns Valley, POB 427, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
