Linda E. McCool, 82, of Millheim, passed away at her home on May 27, 2025.  Born March 6, 1943, in Lewisburg, Linda was a daughter of the late Nevin E. Bowersox and Virginia Day.  Her parents divorced when she was younger, and she gained two extra parents when her father married Pearl Bowersox, and her mother married Clark Klinepeter.  Linda was a 1961 graduate of Penns Valley High School.

Linda was employed as a Staff Assistant in the Pattee Library at Penn State University, retiring with twenty-eight years of service.  She was a regular at the Spring Mills YMCA and will be sorely missed by her fellow Y classmates.  After trips to the Y, she along with her granddaughter, Kylie had to go out to eat, often frequenting Earlystown Diner to see their favorite waitress, Bonnie.

Later in life when she wasn’t out and about, you could find her at home relaxing and watching her favorite TV shows like NCIS, Lucky Dog, and Monk or chatting with her friends on the phone.  Linda was a lover of cats, word searches and Dairy Queen Blizzards.  She was also a proud fan of whatever team Saquon Barkley is currently playing on.

Linda is survived by one daughter, Natalie Orndorf (Tim) of Millheim: one son, Dave McCool also of Millheim: two siblings, Van C. Bowersox (Kathy) of Champagne, IL and Sandra Harrison (Lenn) of Lexington, KY and two half-sisters, Teresa Hoffman (Tom) of Beavertown and Sheridan Hagan of Northumberland.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kylie Orndorf of Rebersburg and Tanner McCool of Millheim.  Linda was preceded in death by a half-sister, Bonnie Mattern.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim.  The Celebration of Life for Linda will follow at 8 pm with Pastor Theresa Heiser officiating.  Linda will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Linda may be given to PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College PA 16801.
