Marcella A. “Sally” Bosak, 87, formerly of Snow Shoe, was surrounded by her family when she answered God’s call to come home on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Born on May 22, 1935, in Hawk Run, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Anna (Mehallow) Pollock. On July 10, 1954, she married Andrew J. Bosak. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before Andrew passed away on January 16, 2002.
Sally was a graduate of Morris Twp. High School. She was a member of the Queen of Archangels Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe, where she often attended daily Mass. After moving to Bellefonte, she attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. During her lifetime she worked several retail jobs, including at the Snow Shoe Exit 22 Restaurant, Grants Department Store, and Hall’s IGA.
Sally is survived by her children: Debra A. Putt of Pleasant Gap, Diane M. Mastrian and her husband, Patrick, of Hermitage, PA, and Mark A. Bosak and his wife, Sue, of Port Matilda. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Daniel Putt (Eve), Amanda Botsford (Adam), Leah Lapushan (Kenn), Patrick Mastrian III (Sandra), Vincent Mastrian (Katie), Hayley Bosak, and Nicholas Bosak; and by seven great grandchildren: Naomi, Tyler, Jaxson, Korina, Kenny, Brayden, and Ethan.
Sally was the last of her generation. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers: John, Steve, Andy, Mike, George, Joe, Martin, and Ted and three sisters: Ann Krupa, Helen Danko, and Dot Nudge.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 11am at the Queen of Archangels Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe with Father Brian Saylor and Father Michael Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Snow Shoe.
Sally’s family would like to extend a special note of appreciation to the staff at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall and to 365 Hospice staff for the compassionate care given to their mother.
