Margaret M. Burris, 95, formerly of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill in Philipsburg. Born on October 8, 1929, in Peale PA, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Margaret (Rader) Josephson. On February 18, 1993, in Winchester, Virginia, she married William P. “Bill” Burris, who preceded her in death on April 16, 2000.

Margaret graduated from Cooper High School in 1947 and earned her Registered Nurse degree in 1949 from the Philipsburg State School of Nursing. She worked at Mountaintop Medical Center, where she later served as Administrator before retiring. Margaret also dedicated many years to the Center’s board of directors.

She lived a simple, fulfilling life and found joy in life’s everyday pleasures. Margaret loved flower gardening, taking day trips with Bill, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them.

Margaret is survived by her four children: Charles S. Dixon and his wife, Lynn, of Muncy; Kathi L. Lewis of Snow Shoe; Thomas L. Dixon and his wife, Belinda, of Johnstown; and Rebecca Dixon and her companion, Joseph Walsh, of Philadelphia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Rachel Dixon, Ian Dixon, Jacob Dixon, Jackson Dixon, Jenna Lewis, Megan Rash, Sarah Williams, Joseph Williams, and Sean Walsh; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James R. Dixon; son-in-law, Patrick Lewis; grandson, Ryan Dixon; and four siblings: William Josephson, Charles Josephson, Shirley Wittlinger, and infant Joan Josephson. Margaret was the last of her generation.
