Mary Elizabeth Lucas entered into the presence of her loving Lord and Savior on November 9, 2020 at the age of 93. She is most assuredly resting at the feet of Jesus today and singing songs of endless praise.

She was born on December 13, 1926 to Francis Watkins and Madeline (David) Casper in Nutter Fort, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lucas on January 10, 1997. They had been married for almost 50 years. She was also preceded in death by siblings Jim (Margie) Watkins and Katie (Bud) McCulley. She is survived by a brother, Charles (Mary Jane) Casper of Lock Haven. She is also survived by her two daughters, Carol (Paul) Harwick of Souderton, Pennsylvania and Susan (Paul) Fisher of Canon City, Colorado. She is survived by one son, William (Susan) Lucas of Ashland, Kentucky. Mary had a large extended family to include granddaughters Heather (Marc) Budke, Becky Fisher, Olivia (Brett) James, Julie (Nathan) Roush, Lesli (Jonathan) Carney and Billie (Bryan) McCloy. Her grandsons are Chris (Becci) Harwick, Jonathan Harwick, and Andrew (Amy) Harwick. She was blessed by many, many great grandchildren: Tyler (Haylee), Sydney, Reyanne, Raime, Samuel, Jacob, Caleb, Rylie, Jaidyn, Ethan, Allie, Erin, Wesley, Charlotte, Julia, Madasyn, Kailee, Samantha, Mackenzie, Adeline, Harrison, and Henry.

Mary and Walter were married on January 30, 1947 and spent most of their married life in Unionville (Fleming), PA where Walter worked as Post Master and Mary was a homemaker. They had a very close knit family who gathered for many holiday dinners, hunting adventures, and more. Mary loved gardening, reading, working puzzles, sewing, and baking to name a few. Her primary love was her Lord. She dedicated her life in service through teaching Sunday school, faithfully attending and hosting cottage prayer meetings, and many other areas of ministry at Berean Bible Fellowship. She was a charter member of the church and could be found there often. She attended faithfully until moving to Windy Hill in Philipsburg in 2018. She was also active in her community serving on the Unionville Borough Board of Elections and the Oak Ridge Cemetery Association. She was a longtime supporter of Centre County Christian Academy in Bellefonte, PA.

While she will be greatly missed on this earth, her family rejoices that she is now in her heavenly home. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mary’s life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Berean Bible Fellowship, 360 Race Street, Fleming, PA.
