Mary M. Armstrong, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, at Susque View Home Nursing and Rehab. in Lock Haven. She was born on January 27, 1944, in Altoona, to the late Neldon and Helen (Wilt) Cowher. On November 22, 1965, she married her beloved husband William Armstrong, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2006.
Mary attended Bellefonte Area High School. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. Mary was well known in the Bellefonte and surrounding areas for her freelance photography. She cherished her home and gardening as well as sharing her special “secret gardens” with her grandchildren to which she always referred to as her angel babies. Her time with her family meant the most but she’ll always share a special bond with her sister, Honey.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Lorie Sherry (Jim) of Mingoville, Mary Beth Masullo (Jeff) of Zion, and raised, Jeremy Strouse of Boalsburg and Leslie Strouse (Kenneth) of Bellefonte, as two of her own. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Rebecca Sherry, Kymberly Webb, Meghan Sherry, Tarynn Sherry, Lindsey Palko, Kaylee Masullo, Alana Masullo, Kendra Brown, 8 great grandchildren, one sister, Helen “Honey” Johnson of Bellefonte and one brother, Patrick Cowher of Bellefonte.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom, and Kim Cowher.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 10am until 11am, with a celebration of life service to be held at 11am with Deacon Alex Dyakiw officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
