Born on November 10, 1938, in Madisonburg, she was the daughter of the late M.L. Robert and Ruth B. (Caris) Rishel. On December 1, 1956, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Bellewood, she married the love of her life, Robert S. Breon, of Centre Hall, who preceded her in death in January of 1990.

Miriam, known to many as “Mimi” or “Mim”, was a 1956 graduate of the former Gregg Township Vocational School in Spring Mills. After graduation, she worked on the family farm until she married Robert. They became the parents of two sons, Steven Robert Breon and Robert S. Breon, Jr. She took care of their home and children.

Miriam was a woman of many talents. She was a great cook and an expert seamstress. She would make blankets for various charities, such as the Ronald McDonald House, Woman’s Resource Center, and many others. She also made blankets and crafts for family and friends, and with each one, she would sew her love into it with each stitch. She truly enjoyed Christmas time and the holidays, from entertaining groups of people to decorating themed Christmas trees with her homemade ornaments, it made her happy. She was a kind and giving woman with a sense of humor. She was a great mother and grandmother.

Miriam is survived by her son, Robert S. Breon, Jr of Spring Mills and grandson, Robert, of Spring Mills; her daughter in-law, Vickie Breon (widow of Steven) and grandson, Jeremy Steven Breon, of Aaronsburg; her sister, Mary Isobel Hosterman and her husband, Glenn, of Aaronsburg; her brother, Robert L. Rishel of Latrobe; her sister in-law, Doris Rishel (widow of Martin) of Belleville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Miriam was preceded in death by her son, Steven R. Breon on October 9, 2015, her brother, Martin C. Rishel, and an infant brother.
