Molly E. Bassett, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Juniper Village in State College. Born on February 15, 1940, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Carrie (Ray) Ishler.
Molly was a 1958 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School.
She is survived by her four children, Gerald R. Wert (Debbie), Susan Kline (Dick), both of Bellefonte, Heidi Hicks of Lamar, and Michael W. Wert (Kimberly) of Winston Salem, NC, five grandchildren: Ashley King, Britney Smithmyer, J.R. Wert, Ali Hicks, and Nathan Wert, and four great grandchildren, Olivia, Greer, Cayden, and Quinn. Also surviving is a sister, Linda Young (Gary) of Richmond, VA, and a brother, Woodrow Ishler (Pam) of Camp Hill.
In addition to her husband, Robert L. Wert, and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Small.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Molly cared for her family more than anything. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellefonte. Not only was she devoted to her church, but also to her mission work at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, at the church, with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
