Nancy E. Cole, 81, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Windy Hill Nursing Home in Philipsburg. Born on October 2, 1943, in Bellefonte, she was the beloved daughter of the late Milo “Pete” Yeaney and Elizabeth “Bessey” (Fisher) Yeaney.
Nancy was a proud 1961 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. She dedicated 26 years of her career to Penn State, serving as an Administrative Assistant for the Economics Department and in Police Services.
Throughout her life, Nancy was deeply involved in her community, particularly with the Boy Scouts of America, where she served as the Troop Mom in Port Matilda during her sons’ formative years. An avid bingo player, she also cherished organizing class reunions for her classmates. Above all, Nancy adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her children: Timothy C. Spotts and his wife, Sherri, of Centre Hall; Thomas A. Zeigler and his wife, Ginger, of Altoona; and Crystal Spotts of Somerset. Nancy’s legacy also lives on through her seven grandchildren, her brother, Daniel Yeaney and his wife, Joyce, of Lock Haven, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ken Yeaney and James Yeaney.
A private graveside will be held at the family’s convenience.
